How to clean Hario's Syphon

1. Dump used coffee grounds into the trash can.

2. Remove filter cloth and rinse/dry thoroughly.

3. Rinse top and bottom glass with gentle soap.

4. Set it on a rack and let it air dry.

Packaging (Original Box)

1. Cheap Printing.

2. Able to see ripples from cardboard box texture.

3. White, Pink, Brown, Black, Magenta, Chrome (Minimum 6 colors).

5. Unable to be stacked on top of another, package wouldn't be able to withstand the weight.

Safety Hazards

3. Fragile material (glass) if broken, it can cause serious injuries.

4. If bottom glass is overheated (no water and burning under open flames), it has the possibility of exploding..

5. If the bottom pot is not clamped properly, there is a possibility of it detaching and falling from the base/stand.

Keep the original look and feel

1. The reason why Hario ended up with this design is because they intended it to show off the interesting science that goes on behind it "Beauty of science". The design looks like a science experiment and they choose brown plastic to match the brown coffee color.

I kept the original functionality of the syphon but because of the safety hazard, I decided to remove the open flame and decided to make it into a hotplate the whole device can rest on.
